| Me on a boat in Naiital on blue waters of Nainital lake |
The Poor Man's Food Basket
hello, the profile image used so far was the one I used for work too, that is why it had a tie. But time has come to change it because in fact the contents of this blog have little to do with the contents of my work. Therefore I have added an image from a weekend in Nainital. The image shows me on a boat. On holidays I rarely wear a tie except in the evenings in Nainital while visiting the boat club because it requires guests to come in tie.
The boat is in the same lake shown in near full view in the cover image at the top. In that image there are boats too but just as small tiny dots. To capture a large section of the lake I took that photo from top of a neighboring hill after taking a rope way ride to the top. This one was snapped by a friend sitting opposite me in the boat.

Ashok,
I like the photo, but haven't I seen the same photo before? I remember those red and colorful cushions. I like them a lot though.
I have a suggestion if you have time and you like doing it, you can make a video of yourself making a speech so that we can tap the center of the photo and watch you speak. I think Rebb will like it, too. What do you think?
Thanks Keiko. yes I remember you admiring the red cushions of a boat earlier.
I think that is a an idea worth considering about the video. Let us see if I can think of what to speak. Keiko i started my career as a teacher to engineering students and was very confident in front of them from the start, but this idea os speaking in front of a video camera makes me a bit nervous, anyway it can always be done and redone and edited. i shall do it if I run into some professional who is experienced in the area and who can give a bit of help.
thanks for the suggestion.
Ashok,
I look forward to watching your video. If I can say even just hello, I will do it. The other day, I at last bought a iPad mini, and accidentally took a few seconds video. That's why I thought maybe it's easy to do. It will be fun!
Keiko
Will definitely let you know Keiko when I do. Actually I minimise technology and avoid it to the extent possible. My computer does have a web cam and possibility of making a video but I took it out.
I really dread playing with technology at home and keep things as simple as possible because when they do not work they give a headache, although in my job i did since that was a part of it.
Actually one can make videos with the mobile too, my mobile does it but perhaps the resolution is not that great. I will just wait for some professional friend when I run into them for it because if one has to have only just one video up on the net it may as well be a good one :)
With background music and the works!
and because it is an idea from you I have just the right piece of Japanese music for the last minute - it is a Hindi song with japanese words - Sayonara, Sayonara, until we meet again.
I like your new photo too, Ashok. Relaxed and casual. I like the setting very much.
Great idea, Keiko...yes, that would be great to see a video, Ashok.
Thanks Rebb, Well now I would have to work on the video, I realised my sony digital camera too can make videos, but I will take some time so as to get a bit of expert help, whenever it becomes available. i have never made a video myself before. Perhaps It might become useful on the amazon book pages too, maybe I would make it like an interview and that would be easier than a monolouge perhaps?
My adpoted son Shyamu has been making videos of his son, now also daughter with his mobile phone over the past few years but the resolution and quality of that sort of thing is not good.
